Supporting the strategic mission to provide outstanding cancer care to communities nationwide, Hord Coplan Macht has worked with the team at US Oncology across several different practice groups to provide consistency in design and planning for several facilities.

By building upon each project’s success to inform the next, the HCM design team has been able to enhance space types and standards to facilitate rapid transformation of existing spaces—such as warehouses and traditional office buildings—into a series of outpatient oncology centers. In addition to helping achieve speed to market goals by streamlining the design process, this methodology of design helps to create and maintain a consistent facility aesthetic and patient experience across multiple sites of care. Furthermore, we have successfully adapted and scaled these design modules with unique site constraints, program elements, and local contexts without sacrificing quality or brand identity.

To date, our projects have spanned five practice groups across four states to design more than 100 exam rooms, 260 infusion chairs, 10 pharmacies, and 14 labs to provide enhanced and expanded services for patients.
