Hord Coplan Macht (HCM) announces that it has added Scott Matties, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, as a Principal in the firm’s Affordable Housing studio.

Scott brings over 35 years of experience in architectural design and master planning across institutional, academic, commercial, and residential projects, and has spent the past 25 years developing exceptional affordable housing for underserved communities.

“Scott has extensive experience in community engagement and has successfully led projects with diverse public and private stakeholders. I am thrilled to have Scott on our team to help provide safe and affordable housing to all,” said HCM’s Affordable Housing Leader Keval Thakkar.

Scott’s experience includes numerous affordable housing projects, senior housing, and mixed-income projects including Spring Flats, a mixed-income independent senior and family housing project in Washington D.C.; Mount Sterling Senior Residences, an affordable independent senior apartment project in Sterling, Virginia; and St. James Plaza, an affordable family housing and childcare center in Alexandria, Virginia.
