Adele Willson is Managing Principal of Hord Coplan Macht’s office in Denver, Colorado. She joined the firm (then SLATERPAULL Architects) in 1984 and became the firm’s first female architect and principal.
During her 30+ years of experience, Adele Willson has worked with over 200 schools providing programming, master planning, and design services for their facilities. More specifically, she has worked on many conversion projects including converting office buildings, warehouses, car dealerships and other buildings into educational facilities. She understands the components realated to 21st Century School Design, and is passionate about designing high performing, beautiful schools that meet the needs of future learners. Ms. Willson is an active participant in many organizations that affect schools, such as A4LE (Association for Learning Environments) where she is the past president of the Rocky Mountain Chapter and “Educational Planner of the Year” [2009.] In addition, she is often an invited presenter at school organizations. Adele has led DAG meetings for most of the K-12 projects in the office and enjoys engaging educators, parents, students and community members.
