The Wind Crest Town Center project involved the repositioning of an existing clubhouse, a pivotal component of the ongoing development at the Erickson community. The design focused on transforming all the existing non-residential spaces to encourage more resident activity, specifically aiming to foster small-group interaction, and updating and expanding its dining venues and other amenities with contemporary standards and market expectations. The project reflected the idea that small program and design changes to existing communities can be impactful to both residents and community staff.
Once a room used for borrowing books, the reimagined library has evolved into a modern media lounge and living room. Cozy seating nooks complement the books on display, transforming the existing library into a social and intellectual hub. Dining program expansion included the new Fireside Bar and Mill Vista Bar, destination venues for residents, but also expanding the professional growth opportunities for employees through new positions, staff responsibilities, and job skills. A new Employee Health & Wellness Center was also included in the reprogrammed space, now used as a recruitment tool, offering appealing benefits to existing and prospective employees.
Unique amenity upgrades featured immersive technology catered to residents. In the new virtual golf area, residents can re-engage in physical activity without leaving the campus, practice their swings, and regain confidence to return to outdoor courses or enjoy the nearby putt-putt area on campus. A digital gaming zone was also included, which featured accessible audiovisual technology and gaming consoles, allowing residents to engage with younger family members while improving their comfort with technology and bridging generational gaps.
