The Power & Light District is a multi-building, mixed-use dining, entertainment, retail, office and residential development in Kansas City, Missouri developed by The Cordish Companies. The latest addition to the Power & Light skyline is Two Light mixed-use residential tower. Hord Coplan Macht designed the high-rise as a modern glass volume, symbolizing the resurgent city, emerging from a masonry base and lower volume that reference the historic scale and context of the adjacent downtown district.
Two Light is a 24-story, 296-unit mixed-use residential high rise building with a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments, and 22 penthouse units on the top two floors. The amenities are concentrated atop five levels of structured parking with a total of 441 parking spaces over 3,000 sf of street-level retail at the southeast corner and 15,000 sf of double-height office space at the southwest.
The project boasts a richly programmed and generous amenity and amenity terrace at the 8th level that sets a new standard for Kansas City and makes Two Light its premier residence. Drawing design inspiration from the rich arts, cultural, and sporting history of KC, the amenity is the vibrant center of the new community from its robust art program to its infinity edge pool overlooking the heart of the entertainment district.
Two Light took home Best in Region (Central) and the Platinum Award for Developments 8 Stories & Over, For Rent at the 2018 National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Awards Program. Check out the full profile and judges comments, here.
