Thunder Vista is a three-story PK-8 school that exemplifies the modern mountain aesthetic. Hord Coplan Macht’s team designed the building to integrate into the natural setting of the school, the graphics and signage further support this concept by giving the feeling of being in the great outdoors. Wayfinding was designed to blend into the architectural features of the building through the use of natural colors and materials, such as wood and metal. Murals throughout the school emphasize the spirit of the rugged outdoors, connecting the school to the surrounding natural environment. Graphics sandblasted into the seat boulders along the exterior of the school offer found moments of inspiration to curious students.
