The Glen Retirement Community

The Glen Retirement System is a not-for-profit, continuing care retirement community (CCRC) serving seniors in the Shreveport, Louisiana market since 1898. This project was a reinvention of their campus to expand and reposition their independent living offering a dedicated wing for assisted living, expand and rationalize their memory care along with various site improvements. These upgrades were leveraged to transform the image of the campus as well. The initial phases of this repositioning included a new sixty unit IL apartment building, which also houses an alternative dining venue and a wellness complex. Forty-eight existing mixed IL and AL units were renovated to provide two purpose-designed assisted living households. An additional fourteen resident memory care small house was added for a 50% increase in capacity and to improve staffing logistics. The first phase also included the renovation of the existing commons, central kitchen expansion and the reconstruction of existing building exteriors.
