The Glen Landscape Architecture

The Glen Retirement System is an existing continuing care retirement community serving seniors since 1898. HCM master planned the existing 54-acre campus and built the initial phase of the master plan that included a new independent living facility, renovated assisted living wing, expanded memory care building, and numerous site improvements that enhance the campus through an improved user experience by providing pedestrian connectivity to the buildings, improved safety, visibility, access and numerous new outdoor amenity spaces.

A new main entry welcomes residents and visitors with a formal entry including guard house, decorative gates, brick entry walls and perimeter fence for security. An existing detention pond was rebuilt as a permanent retention pond amenity with new walking paths, deck overlooks, fishing pier, fountains, ornamental and shade plantings, and a vehicular bridge crossing. Site amenities include multiple walking paths, bocce courts, gazebo, and dining patio with fire pit.

A memory care courtyard invites residents and family members outside to experience the lush gardens with sensory plants, raised garden beds, loop walk, or relaxation under the large gazebo.
