Matson Mill is located in downtown Conshohocken, adjacent to SPETA regional rail station, which provides a daily commute to downtown Philadelphia. The new development consists of one residential apartment building constructed on top of a structured parking garage. The project site is geographically defined by the tracks of Manayunk/Norristown line to the north, Schuylkill River to the south, framed by the Fayette Street Bridge to the west. With the scenic view of Schuylkill on the south, the building maximizes views from resident units.
HCM landscape architects collaborated with HCM architects and the development team to design exterior spaces including the streetscape, riverside bike trail, rooftop amenities featuring a resort-style pool, hardscaped patio, poolside seating, an outdoor lounge with seating and lawn games, a courtyard that serves as an outdoor extension to the fitness center, and a yoga studio. A variety of levels, paving materials, seasonal plantings, and outdoor structures provides a compelling experience and connection to the architecture.
