The School of Dental Medicine will move their Dental Advanced Simulation Hub (DASH) into an existing space currently occupied by the College of Nursing program. The new dental lab will include 42 student simulation stations that provide compressed air, power/data, dental tools, and manikin heads. The lab will also include scanning stations, and radiographic tube heads. A central instructor station provides space for group collaboration and instruction. A separate dispensary room will provide storage for general lab supplies and sterilized dental tools and trays which will then be checked out to students at a counter between the lab and dispensary for each lab session. The sets of dental tools included in
each tray are customized to allow students to practice a variety of dental skills. At the end of each session the tools are checked back into the dispensary for transfer for sterilization.
The lab also includes a milling room that includes milling machines and furnaces for the simulated crowns and other dental work, as well as
storage for supplies.
