Gray’s Peak Health Care Career Center (Graphic Design)

The new Gray’s Peak Health Care Career Center (HCCC) at Front Range Community College’s Larimer Campus is located at a high-traffic intersection in Fort Collins, Colorado. The College wanted to take advantage of this location’s opportunity to increase their visibility and build a stronger connection with the community. To this end, Hord Coplan Macht designed large-scale exterior signage, supporting the goal that this building would become a “gateway to campus.” Environmental graphics and wayfinding were designed to respond to the HCCC’s overall needs, as well as those of the specialized spaces.

The graphic design team also developed a donor recognition program, which became a highlight within the large, open atrium space. This atrium is the heart of the HCCC, and offers prominent views of the Front Range, as well as daylighting. The donor wall was designed with various sizes and depths in a woven panel system, which creates a layered visual effect that was further emphasized by integrating lighting into select panels. The wall was designed to always appear complete, while allowing a seamless addition of new names, as needed.
