Hord Coplan Macht was tasked with refreshing the Cesar Chavez Public Charter Schools for Public Policy building, a middle and high school with the mission to prepare students to succeed in competitive colleges and to empower them to use public policy to create a more just, free, and equal world. The primary goal was to rebrand the existing building and inject the spirit, vision and mission of the school into the space. HCM’s Interior Design and Graphic Design teams worked closely together on new painting schemes and graphics to tie in existing finish colors and incorporate the new brand colors. Bands of color down the corridors marry the finishes and brand colors along with bands of college pennants that represent HBCUs and other higher education institutions attended by the alumni. Other graphics include the school’s mascot, values and mission, as well as inspirational quotes from Cesar Chavez. In addition to interior wall graphics, updated exterior entry signage and interior room signage system were designed and installed.
