Capital City Public Charter School Auditorium and Theater Renovation

Capital City Public Charter School was founded in 2000 and currently serves nearly 1,000 students in grades PK-12. The school implements the Expeditionary Learning model in tandem with the common principles of the Coalition of Essential Schools (CES). Capital City’s program also emphasizes a strong social curriculum, a commitment to diversity, a strong inclusion model and the integration of arts into the curriculum. There is a strong focus on professional development and growth. Capital City engaged Hord Coplan Macht, along with Whiting-Turner in a design build contract to design the renovation of their existing theater, including installation of a new HVAC system, catwalk, flooring, stage and risers, as well as the re-use of existing seating and adjacent office space.
