The demand for upscale, trendy housing in downtown Washington D.C., the location of Anthology, continues to steadily increase. More and more college graduates, college students, and young people want to make the move to the big city but are having trouble finding unoccupied apartments. Jair Lynch Development Partners and Hord Coplan Macht came together to tap into this ever-increasing demand for more Class-A apartment buildings.

Our team was led by HCM’s Director of Design, Chris Harvey, AIA. With more than two decades of award-winning design experience, including projects like Baltimore’s Union Wharf, Jair Lynch felt confident hiring Hord Coplan Macht.

Located between two existing office buildings on trendy ‘H’ Street Northeast in Washington, DC, Anthology is a mixed-use infill project offering market-rate apartments. To keep the building in spirit with the surrounding commercial district, Anthology sits over a street front retail, including a Starbucks, specialty shops, and a pet store. Below ground structured parking is provided. The 290-unit complex aims to compete with the other hi-rise luxury apartment buildings in the area.

A two-tiered lower interior courtyard features additional social spaces for gathering including a bocce ball court, a zen garden and an outdoor movie area. Anthology also features a rooftop pool with views to the U.S. Capitol and the Washington Monument.

Just a stone’s throw away from Chinatown, the neighborhood is full of attractions from bustling restaurants to the Capital One Arena just a block away.
