Hord Coplan Macht is pleased to share two exciting announcements from the DC Metro office: the promotion of Joe Schneider, AIA, to Managing Principal, DC Metro Area, as well as the relocation of the team to expanded space.

Since joining HCM in 2012, Schneider has played an integral role in growing the branch from a small, satellite office into a self-sustaining, 35-person operation serving DC and the surrounding National Capitol Region. The firm initially recruited Schneider to lead the growth of the Housing and Mixed-Use Practice in the region from the ground up, but his impact has extended beyond the specialty.

“My expanded role of Managing Principal of the DC Metro office allows me to broaden my vision in the context of the overall strategic growth of the firm, specifically as it relates to expanding our core market services in the DC Metro area,” Schneider said.

The new office will be located at 1925 Ballenger Ave, Ste 525, Alexandria, VA 22314. Increased desks, as well as gathering and collaboration space, will allow the DC Metro team to continue to grow and broaden its practice.

“Strengthening all of our regional office core-market services to include Housing / Mixed-Use, Healthcare, Education, Senior Living and Planning / Landscape Design further enhances our ability to leverage our national expertise, putting HCM in the best position possible to compete as an award-winning national design firm,” Schneider said. “It’s very rewarding for me to look back at the goals we collectively set out to achieve upon opening this office and witnessing the growth and success to its current maturity.”

All three of Hord Coplan Macht offices (Baltimore, Denver and DC Metro) will move to new, larger offices this calendar year, marking a major milestone in the firm’s growth.
