HORD COPLAN MACHT PROJECT WINS NATIONAL DESIGN AWARD

The annual Healthcare Design Magazine design showcase recently honored Hord Coplan Macht’s Mid-Michigan Medical Center–New Cardiovascular Center as one of the best design projects of 2018.

Earning Honorable Mention, the cardiovascular center will improve hospital operations by integrating service lines and supporting a holistic approach to patient care.

The three-story, $45 million, 170,000 sf infill renovation, expected to open in 2020, will include not only the new cardiovascular center, but also ambulatory services spaces, combining clinical departments and providing room for future expansion. The building features a modern design with soaring roofs and a three-story glass atrium, as well as multiple levels of garden spaces both inside and outside, providing places of respite and access to nature throughout the facility.

The prestigious Healthcare Design Showcase awards program is now in its 18th year of honoring the very best design and architecture in the healthcare industry. Seventeen jurors, appointed by the partner organizations (The Center for Health Design, IIDA, and ASID), evaluated this year’s project submissions.

Project Team:
