Hord Coplan Macht announces that it has completed its 10th annual Green Challenge – a five-week commitment to impact the environment and promote sustainability. The firm’s Green Challenge runs from St. Patrick’s Day to Earth Day and encourages employees to make positive changes to reduce their personal carbon footprint.

Hord Coplan Macht’s Green Challenge highlights the firm’s commitment to sustainable design and environmental responsiveness in several areas. Each employee challenges themselves to reduce their impact on the environment. The individual challenges are displayed in the firm’s lobby as an art piece to celebrate the collective impact. The final component of the Challenge is a series of speakers that exposes the staff to new ideas in sustainability. The firm is also a participant in the 2030 Challenge, which seeks to realize carbon neutrality by the year 2030.

“The Green Challenge continues to be a strong tradition and fantastic opportunity to strengthen and promote our firm’s mission of sustainability,” says Carson Shields, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, CDT, associate, Hord Coplan Macht.  “Our 10-year commitment to this annual practice has given us the opportunity to live out and amplify our message of sustainability and environmental responsibility in the community, our office and our personal lives.”

The goal for the firm and employees throughout the Green Challenge is to change old habits or form new ones that positively impact the environment and continue after the challenge is completed.
