David Hatton, AIA, Principal

David Hatton, AIA, is a principal in the Higher Education studio and based in Baltimore. David has more than 30 years of experience in higher education, business development, and campus master planning. As a global education leader and practitioner, his past projects include Virginia Tech’s Academic/Food Service Building; multiple projects for Saint Joseph’s University, including the Haub School of Business and the Campus Master Plan; University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s W.R. Davies Student Center; student housing at Western Michigan University and David A. Straz, Jr. Center for Natural and Social Sciences at Carthage College.

Prior to joining HCM, Mr. Hatton was Vice President and Higher Education Sector Leader at Stantec. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from University of Minnesota and license registration in over 15 states.
