Symphony Park is a luxury urban housing infill project located in North Bethesda, Maryland, adjacent to the Music Center at Strathmore, The Mansion at Strathmore and within walking distance to the Metro station. HCM was tasked with developing a site concept and landscape architectural design including gateways, plazas, mews and pocket parks, front yards, fountain feature, public art features, play area, plantings, storm water management pond, and 10 acre afforestation area.  In addition to creating a unique sense of place for the new community, the design concept had to preserve and integrate the existing public uses of the property including public walking trails and a grass amphitheater used by Strathmore for special events.  Taking cues from the traditional architectural precedent and surrounding site context, HCM created a vocabulary of local stone, brick, bluestone, fencing, planting reminiscent of classic European towns.
