Hord Coplan Macht, formerly Slaterpaull, was selected by Aims Community College to design improvement to the existing building at the Fort Lupton campus, and design a new building to house the Ag and Oil Gas Education departments This $9 million project also includes site improvements to create a sense of a college quad, improve circulation, and create welcoming outdoor spaces. The project included adding new building forms and materials that relate to the existing building and creating classrooms that serve multiple uses.

The design goals were to maximize the utility of the new spaces, improve those of the existing one, and have the combination of the two buildings create new sense of place for this developing satellite campus.   The challenges included outdating an older existing building to serve new programs, and working with tight budget constraints.
