Hord Coplan Macht Wins Best of 50+ Housing Award

Hord Coplan Macht is pleased to announce that Brightview South River Assisted Living, located in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, has been awarded the Gold National Design Award in the Best of 50+ Assisted Living / Special Needs Community category by the National Association of Home Builders.

Developed by Shelter Development, LLC , the Brightview South River community is comprised of 64 assisted living units and a 26-unit Alzheimer’s wing.  The community offers a host of amenities including multiple dining options, a fitness center with adjacent spa and beauty facilities as well as activity spaces for arts & crafts and hobbies.  Outdoor living features include a patio, a gazebo and gardens with trellises and walking paths. The top floors are dedicated to assisted living residents. Their spaces include a lounge with a fireplace, brain fitness room, lounge, library and activity rooms.

The project achieved LEED Gold Certification and is Shelter’s first LEED project.  Features include many sustainable design elements such as a green roof, electric car charging stations, native landscaping, purchase of green energy, and use of recycled content building materials.

The National Association of Home Builders Best of 50+ Housing Awards recognize projects that represent innovation in design, development, lifestyle, and marketing housing to an older consumer.  The award ceremony aims to identify current trends in the 50+ housing market.
