Hord Coplan Macht Project Honored for Excellence in Landscape Architecture
Hord Coplan Macht is pleased to announce that it was awarded the Presidential Award of Excellence by the Maryland Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects. Presented at the organization’s annual gala, the awards program recognizes projects that demonstrate a superior quality of design and execution.
Earning the Presidential Award, the organization’s highest honor, was Loyola University of Maryland: Gateway, Streetscape & Donnelly, a project along Cold Spring Lane in Baltimore, MD. Hord Coplan Macht created a created a safe and comfortable pedestrian experience that serves as an enhanced perimeter frame for the campus. Additionally, stone walls on each side of Charles Street and a new gateway sign created a campus gateway. Through re-construction of the south campus border, Loyola presents a friendly and welcoming face to its neighbors.
About the Maryland Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA)
Founded in 1972, the Maryland Chapter of the ASLA is the professional association for landscape architects, representing more than 370 members within Maryland in 2009. Landscape architecture is a comprehensive discipline of land analysis, planning, design, management, preservation, and rehabilitation. ASLA promotes the landscape architecture profession and advances the practice through advocacy, education, communication, and fellowship.
